Chicago Fire are competing against 15 other MLS teams for the Pepsi Refresh Project prize of $50,000. The award will go towards helping school kids receive the necessary items to help them go back to school.

 The Chicago Fire Juniors of Michigan would like to issue a big thank you to all the clubs, participants and families who attended the 14th Annual Lakeshore Soccerfest this past weekend.  It was one of the most successful tournaments we’ve held to date.  We will be working hard to improve upon this past weekend’s event and we look forward to seeing you all again at the 15th Annual Soccefest Tournament. 

CHICAGO, IL (Friday, March 27, 2010) – The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced today the addition of Mark Spooner as Associate Coach of the Premier Development League (PDL) and Super-20 teams. Already the Director of Coaching for the Chicago Fire Juniors-Michigan, Spooner will expand his role in the Chicago Fire Player Development pyramid, connecting the youth club to Fire Premier programs.

Our very own Bria West is one of 18 girls from Michigan representing Region 2 in the ODP National Championship series this weekend.  Michigan was given the honor of representing region 2 after winning the Regional tournament this past summer in DeKalb, IL. during the annual ODP Regional Camp.  The four regions will be competing against each other in Phoenix, AZ between March 10th - March 15th eventually crowning one team the national champions.

We want to give a huge congratulations to Mary Jo Messenger for winning the MSYSA Administrator of the Year Award.  Mary Jo is the club administrator for us, the Chicago Fire Juniors of Michigan.  She generously volunteers her time to the club for the past year, stepping up by first helping out with the Lakeshore Soccerfest in 2008 and eventually taking on more responsibilities by becoming the club registrar.  To read more about Mary Jo and why she was awarded this prestious honor for the entire state of Michigan, click here.
