The WMFJ u13 girls Super Y team coached by Courtney Nash and Brock West, will be representing the FIRE and the Midwest division in the Super Y North American Finals Tournament being held in Tampa, FL this November 21st through the 26th. Teams around the country from New York to California, Florida to Michigan, will all be gathering to compete for the honor of being Super Y National Champs. The u13 FIRE girls won the Midwest division outright with an impressive 6-1-3 record. They finished with the most overall points, tied for the most wins, and had the fewest losses, the least goals against and the best goal differential. Other teams in the Midwest regional division include: Fort Wayne, Cleveland (took second place, also going to Tampa), Chicago, Milwaukee, Pennsylvania, Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids.
WMFJ Super Y teams consist of some of the best players in the West Michigan area from across club boundaries. Games are played in the summer after spring seasons are complete with most games being held in June and July. Teams carry a max roster of 26 players with only 18 players being allowed to compete in any given match. The Fire team has 17 players planning to make the trip to Florida in November all combining their talents from 2 separate clubs and 4 different teams (WMFJ u13 Premier, SCOR u13 premier, WMFJ u13 Klunder, WMFJ u12 Academy). The girls will be playing up to five games down in Tampa over the course of (5) days depending on their performance.
