The West Michigan Fire Juniors believe in the Pyramid of Player Development. From the base of the pyramid, where one finds the greatest number of participants from the recreational player and beginning player, to the top of the pyramid, where we find our first division professional player - our program has the capacity to meet every player’s goals.
Our professional coaching staff is equipped to meet every player’s developmental needs - from bottom to top. We follow a curriculum that is both age and ability based and allows the flexibility to acommodate those who are excelling as well as those who need additional help. Because of our soccer club’s unique distinction as the first program to follow a professional soccer club model - one club, from youth recreational teams to our elite Academy teams and finally to the ultimate, the MLS’s Chicago Fire - there is no other club in the United States that is committed to player development from bottom to top.
To gauge our success, we have approached our teams with long term goals. Our most important goal is to develop the player and not use the quick fix route that uses winning as its only measurement. Our program, as it progresses out of infancy, has been influenced and adapted from several of the best youth systems in the world. In essence, we have taken the best aspects domestically and abroad and have tailored them to the needs of the American youth player. In short, it is our goal to develop and attract all levels of player, including the very best players in
West Michigan and put them in the most competitive and demanding environment available. An environment of this magnitude will allow players to perform outside their comfort zone, which will increase their learning curve.
It is important that we give our youth every opportunity to fulfill their potential.
The West Michigan Fire Juniors is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization.
