Firewomen sign New Zealand International Players
Add Kiwi polish to squad
 
The West Michigan Firewomen announced the signing of three New Zealand International players for the 2006 Season. The three players, pictured here playing against Japan in 2005 are Pam Yates- Goalkeeper (#1),  as well as Rebecca O'Neill - Midfield (#4) and Priscilla Duncan - Midfield (far right),The ladies will spend the summer with the Firewomen, before returning home to New Zealand to take part in the World Cup qualifiers in the hope of qualifying to play in the World Cup, which is to be held in China in 2007.
 
"These are great additions to the squad for 2006, having played at the International level they will bring a new experience to squad. They will bring a new look to the team for this season and will really help the younger players develop. It clearly shows the level this club has grown in such a short time." Ian McMahon - Head Coach.
 
The International players will also be assisting with coaching during the remainder of the regular season for WMFJ teams, running the W-League Camps and also helping with the Super Y-League teams.
 
The home opener for the team is Saturday 27th May versus the Chicago Gaels (kick off 7PM), the team play at West Ottwa High School Soccer Complex.
