Super Y League Success
The WMFJ Super Y Program finished up the 2007 season with great success. This year marked a first in club
history as the u15 girls were invited to participate in the Super Y National Finals, held November 16th - 20th, in Tampa, Florida. While in Florida, the girls represented the state of Michigan and the Fire Juniors extremely well against such high caliber competition. Their first game was against FC Delco out of West Chester, PA, and ended with a 1 - 0 victory. The following day the ladies bunkered down and played against the #2 ranked girls club in the nation, the Chicago Magic (Chicago, IL). Day three brought our ladies National hopes to an end as they fell to a tough Southern California team 0 - 1, the SoCal Blues.
We are proud of the u15 girls and their success throughout the summer season and in Florida at the Super Y National Finals.
In addition in to the success of the u15 girls, several players from this summer’s Super Y teams were selected for participation in the Super Y ODP Nationals (Olympic Development Program). The Super Y ODP National camp will be held in Cocoa, Florida, January and February of 2008. Congratulations to the following ODP selected players for theirs accomplishments:
