SOCCERFEST KICK OFF TONIGHT!!!

Referee Academy comes to Soccerfest

The Referee Academy is a group of young referees in Michigan who receive additional refereeing experiences under the supervision of recognized, experienced assessors. Typically this group attends tournaments and works with other referees also. The Lakeshore Soccerfest 2009 is privileged to have Eduardo Rodriguez and Dean Kimmeth attend and share their expertise with a referee group.

Some frequently asked questions:

Guest Players:

What defines a "guest player"?  A guest player is any player not listed on your team’s league- or association-issued roster.  (Helpful hint:  if the player’s parents are not on your team snack/drink list for league games, then the player is probably a "guest player"!)

How many guest players can we have?  You are allowed up to five (5) guest players for the tournament.

Do guest players count toward our roster maximum?  Yes, guest players count toward your maximum roster count.

If a player plays on another team for our club, can they play for us in the tournament?  Yes, but as a guest player.

Can a player play for two teams at the tournament?  No, a player may only play for one team inthe tournament.

Insurance/Medical:

Does my team need insurance waivers?  Only NON-USYSA teams need the insurance waiver.   Our tournament insurance is issued for USYSA teams only.

Does my medical release form need to be notarized?  Only Michigan USYSA teams are required to have notarized medical releases (which should have been done long before you played your first league game for the 2007/2008 season.)

Risk Management:

Does my coach need a Risk Management card?  YES - For all Michigan USYSA teams, Risk Management cards are issued by MSYSA, and are a separate card from the coach pass, and will be checked at registration.  For non-Michigan teams and all non-USYSA teams, the coach pass also serves as Risk Management certification.

Player Cards:

Do I need a player card/pass for ALL of my players?  YES - all players must have a player pass/card.  ALL PLAYER AND COACH CARDS MUST BE LAMINATED, AND BE SEPARATE CARDS.  (No baseball  trading card pages with player passes loaded in, please!)

Please contact me with any registration questions!  We are looking forward to a great weekend of soccer!
