We want to invite YOU and your teammates to participate in the first ever......Million + ONE Juggling Challenge!!! Hosted by the West Michigan Fire Juniors.
The Million + ONE Juggling Challenge is a club wide fundraiser dedicated to raising money to support our player scholarship fund. It is a goal of the Fire Juniors that no player should be excluded from playing soccer within our club due to financial hardship. In an effort to implement the West Michigan Fire Juniors scholarship fund we are asking all our players to participate in the Million + ONE Juggling Challenge.
During the month of February each FIRE player will be asked to juggle his or her soccer ball every day and keep track of their touches. Players will ask for pledges from friends and family for every juggle touch they take over the course of the month. This pledge could be in the form of $.01 per juggle or a lump sum amount. At the conclusion of February, the club will total everyone’s juggle touches with the goal being ONE MILLION JUGGLES. We will be awarding prizes to the team(s) that raise the most money as well as the individuals with the most juggles. If we exceed our goal of ONE MILLION JUGGLES the West Michigan Fire Juniors will be hosting a 24 hour soccer-a-thon celebration party for all participants in the challenge. This will include a 24 hour long soccer match (with players / teams taking turns on the field) as well as a "lock in" for those wishing to spend the night engulfed in soccer. Except for the "lockdown" portion it will be "come and go" as your schedule allows.
We have chosen this type of fundraiser as we feel not only is it easy for everyone to participate (without another "selling" fundraiser), but it also is VERY beneficial to our players. Juggling is an excelltent way for them to better their balance, gain a "touch" and "feel" for the ball and become more confident with their first touch. We want to emphasize the "juggling every day" as this truly will help them prepare for the spring season and develop as a player. The celebration at the conclusion is a reward for all of their hard work!!!
Please use the Pledge Form provided and record your juggles EVERY DAY (even if its zero). You will be surprised at how much improvement will occur from day one to day 29 (yes it’s a leap year so we get one extra day of juggles!!!).
