Taking the field day one, March 17th, for their first game, the girls battled hard against heavy legs and their opponents.  After standing in the heat and sun for 2.5 hours, the experience and thrill of openinig ceremonies had taken its toll and the ladies found themselves tired even before the first game. 

In our tournament opener, the team played a u18 team Los Lobos team.  Both teams played extremely hard and fought fairly on the pitch.  The score was tied at half time but second half legs failed and the girls dropped their first game 1-3.  But, the team was here to experience the culture and grow as a group of young ladies as much as it was there to play soccer.  The highlight of the match was definately post game as we exchanged Chicago Fire pins with each of the opposing players and took group photos together.
