Coaching: Prior to coming on-board with the Fire, Tara coached for Grand Valley Premier (U17, U18 Girls), AC Storm (U13 Girls), GLS Edge (U14 Girls), Jenison High School and Calvin College. Tara currently holds a USSF "D" License and is pursuing further coaching education with both USSF and NSCAA.

 

Playing: As a forward at Calvin College, Tara was the MIAA scoring leader, MIAA MVP and two-time NCAA All-American. She holds game, season and career scoring records both at Calvin and in the MIAA. Most recently Tara played for the West Michigan Edge in the USL W-League.

 

Other: At Calvin, Tara earned a Pre-Med Biology degree and has put it to work as a Veterinary Assistant at Woodland Vet Clinic in Kentwood.

 

Tara is married to Fire coach Cliff Wegner and they attend Ivanrest Church in Grandville. They live in Hudsonville and have two cats, Buster and Aspen.
