U16 Girls REGIONAL 2 Champs!!!

CONGRATS to the ’93 Premier Girls for beating the Indy Burn this past weekend with a score of 2-0 and have been crowned Region 2 Champs!  The girls will be heading down to North Carolina to participate in the Nationals July 16-18th.

Fire Girls Meet MLS Keeper

The Chicago Fire MLS team sent over Rookie Goal Keeper Andrew Dykstra to represent the team at the benefit soccer match, "A Community for a Cure", which featured the Grandville Bullldogs and Muskegon Lady Reds womens soccer programs. 

Some of our very own Fire Juniors players attended the game and hung out with the MLS Professional. 

u9 and u18 Boys Find Success at Tournament

The u9 and u18 Boys WMFJ teams coached by Wade Schuemann and Travis Saylor both found early spring success at the April Spring Invite Tournament.  Both teams made it to the finals and finished Runner-Ups.  The u9 Boys won their (3) group games with a combined score of 16 goals for and only 1 goal against...  

Super Y Top Honors Awarded
Katie Hartnett was selected to the u13 Girls All National Finals Tournament Team as a result of overall team performance and her individual performance, scoring all (3) of the team goals.  In addition to the u13 girls team success, several West Michigan Fire Players have once again been select to participate in the Super Y ODP program.  Among those selected players were:  Bria West (1994/1995 girls), Katie Hartnett (1994/1995 girls), and Cailyn D’Haem (1992 girls).  The following players have also been selected as alternates for the Super Y program.....
Super Y's Top Juggler
Our very own Kylie Kukowski, from the ’95 WMFJ girls premier team, chose to take part in a juggling competition at the Super Y National Finals competing against other players, boys and girls, ranginig in age from u13-u17.  Kylie ousted all other players with a grand total of 470 touches (her personal best 694) and was crowned the overall juggling champion.  As the contest winner Kylie was awarded an England team jersey signed by the England National team captain and Chelsea F.C. soccer star, John Terry.

u13 girls Midwest Champs

The WMFJ u13 girls Super Y team coached by Courtney Nash and Brock West, will be representing the FIRE and the Midwest division in the Super Y North American Finals Tournament being held in Tampa, FL this November 21st through the 26th.  Teams around the country from New York to California, Florida to Michigan, will all be gathering to compete for the honor of being Super Y National Champs.  The u13 FIRE girls won the Midwest division outright with an impressive 6-1-3 record....
